SPAPS is a Swedish heavy metal band from the island Öland, formed by childhood friends Johan Kalin (vocals), Patrik Magnusson (guitar), and Tobias Magnusson (bass). Originally active between 1991 and 1996, the band made a powerful return in 2024 with the release of their comeback single "In the Name of Metal". Known for their tight musicianship and emotionally charged songwriting, the band combines classic heavy metal roots with modern production and a strong visual identity built on bold symmetry and dark, cinematic themes. Guitarist Patrik Magnusson brings deep industry experience to the group, having worked as a producer and songwriter for acts like CrashDiet — including the hit "Generation Wild" — and collaborated with legendary guitarist Mick Mars of Mötley Crüe. For drums, the band has enlisted Hugo Ribeiro from Moonspell, adding further intensity and precision to their sound.
